March 25, 2013 - CMHA Durham Receives Exemplary Accreditation Standing

Oshawa (November, 2012) - The Canadian Mental Health Association Durham (CMHA Durham) has achieved the highest level of excellence award from Accreditation Canada exemplifying their ongoing commitment and dedication of providing clients and their families with the highest quality health services. It is with high honour that CMHA Durham accepts this ‘Accreditation with Exemplary Standing’ with this being their fourth Accreditation since 2003 when CMHA Durham was the first CMHA branch in Canada to receive a full Accreditation from Accreditation Canada.

March 25, 2013 - CMHA Durham Receives Award for Healthy Living Program

Oshawa (September, 2012) - In August 2012, the Healthy Living Program (HLP) at Canadian Mental Health Association Durham received great news recognizing their excellence and innovation in healthcare. The HLP was awarded the designation of Leading Practice from Accreditation Canada. The program will be formally recognized in February 2013 at the Accreditation Canada Quality Conference.

The Board of the Canadian Mental Health Association, Ontario Division (CMHA, Ontario) is pleased to announce the appointment of Ms. Camille Quenneville as its incoming Chief Executive Officer.

March 25, 2013 - Historic Election at CMHA-NB Annual General Meeting

The Canadian Mental Health Association, New Brunswick Division held its Annual General meeting in Edmundston on October 31st. For the first time in its long history, the Association held an election to fill the role of President, vacated by the resignation of Mr. Armand Savoie. History was made when Mark Henick, age 22, became the youngest person to ever be elected President of a CMHA provincial division in the 92 years since the organization’s national inception.

March 25, 2013 - Queen’s University Students Organize Mental Health Awareness Initiative

Campus-wide initiative aims to eradicate mental health stigma

To support mental health and wellness at Queen’s University, students have organized Queen’s Wears Green, designed to help improve student access to available mental health resources and services. A student rally will be held on November 4 from 11 am to 1 pm at the ARC with keynote speakers Brenda Miller, CEO at the Canadian Mental Health Association, Kingston Branch, and Eric Windeler from The Jack Project; and the Queen’s student group Existere.
