Great-West Life and the Great-West Life Centre for Mental Health in the Workplace (the Centre) are the National Development Sponsors of CMHA’s Workforce Mental Health Collaborative.

Mental Health and Work – Sheridan College

CMHA’s Workforce Mental Health Collaborative partnered with Sheridan College on a national online course that helps people who are off work and on short-term disability, due to a mental health challenge. The program enables them to return to work – confidently and productively.

The course is solution focused on a successful return-to-work outcome and applies a strengths-based approach guided by the recovery philosophy: ‘that people can and do get better’. The curriculum incorporates peer-based principles and methods to foster recovery, develop communication skills, and demonstrate self-management, self-confidence, and resilience characteristics.
