MHWeek Sponsor – McKesson Canada
McKesson Canada excels in providing support to health insurers, hospitals, pharmacies, and other organizations.
Since 1918, the Canadian Mental Health Association has strived to better the lives of Canadians living with mental health problems and mental illnesses. In 1951, CMHA Mental Health Week was introduced as a means of advocating for patients’ rights and that mental illnesses be better acknowledged by Canada’s health care system. Despite being rebranded with its current name in 2002, McKesson Canada has existed as an organization since it was first incorporated as the National Drug and Chemical Company in 1905. Presently, McKesson Canada excels in providing support to health insurers, hospitals, pharmacies, and other organizations that stand for making Canadians healthier and happier.
McKesson has a Corporate Social Responsibility Program called Lifting Barriers, which – among other services – provides people with better access to primary health care. The initiative has a specific focus on supporting Canadians living with mental health problems or illnesses. Through this shared ideal, McKesson Canada acknowledges and supports CMHA’s stance that being mentally healthy is as important as being physically healthy. We are proud to have them as a partner during our 66th annual CMHA Mental Health Week.
